Jamones Recio is placed in Guijuelo, in the mountainous area of the province of Salamanca (Spain). It was starting up by José Manuel and Antonio Recio in 1961. Although the company’s tracking record is not very long our firm is firmly based on the expertise forged by hard work and research at a time when the current technology of the field was of not great help.
Today we salt and eventually cure hams and shoulders (palettes) by implementing strict quality control in every step of the process which begins with a strict selection of the pigs.
Our approach seeks the production of low salt food; on it we focus all our attention and expertise. We greatly benefit from the unique climatic conditions of Guijuelo (crisp fresh mountain air) which considerably help to get our high standard craftsmanship in our products.
